After months of sunny days, it rained a bit yesterday and today was overcast; nonetheless, the scenery was pretty as a picture. (Picture taken with my Kyocera Hydro Icon from FreedomPop and unretouched. Yes, I love to play with filters and contrast and brightness and saturation. My favorite Instagram filter is LO-FI and I pretty much use it exclusively after fidgeting with the image. I like the tone and the graininess.) Swap-bot - addicted already!

I have been wanting to start using the postal system to send and receive random stuff in the mail. An old question on AskMetafilter mentioned Swap-bot and as soon as I saw the site, I knew I would be addicted pretty soon.

New users can sign up for a maximum of five swaps at once, and I have already found mine:

Lots of swaps look interesting but I don't qualify to participate yet, which is probably a good thing because I don't know if I could do all the things required in time. Like, this sewing and embroidery swap looks fun and even though I don't want an orange and black dishcloth, I'm happy to know there's a monthly dishcloth swap.

So, this endeavor should be interesting. I am looking forward to seeing what happens!
